- The rate at which the base commission is paid is determined by the amount of annual earned premium in effect at the end of the previous calendar year. Commission is paid monthly based on premium received during the preceding month.
- All brokers have the opportunity to receive Preferred Status based on their total year-end book of business.
- Health New England offers an exciting competitive Broker Bonus Program. Brokers are eligible for an incentive bonus for either NEW BUSINESS or for MEMBER RETENTION or for both.

Section II
GENERAL PROVISIONS FOR COMMISSION PAYMENT
- Broker must be currently licensed to perform the services described in the Broker Agreement.
- Broker has, in HNE's sole judgement, provided substantial services during the premium term in question in (a) obtaining an application to purchase the products from the premium-paying group, or (b) obtaining such group's renewal, and in either case has provided follow-up support services to such group.
- Any indebtedness of Broker to HNE may be set off against such commissions prior to payment. It is the sole responsibility of the Broker to review on a regular and timely basis the accuracy of the monthly broker's commission report. Any errors or omissions related to the monthly brokers commission report need to be communicated in writing to HNE. In no event shall an error or omission be adjusted retroactive more than 180 days.
- HNE will adjust a Broker's commission for groups that are retroactively terminated for non-payment of premium.
- HNE will only pay commissions to one broker per group in any given month unless the group directs that the commission be split among two or more brokers.
Groups sold directly by HNE
If HNE has or receives a broker of record letter for a direct group, HNE will pay the base commission upon the successful renewal of the group. No commission will be payable until the group renews.
