"America's
Best Health Plans" Ranks Springfield, MA-The U.S. News
& World Report/NCQA America's Best Health Plans 2008 survey ranked
Health New England (HNE) at number six among 239 commercial health plans
reviewed this year. Each year U.S. News & World Report
magazine works with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)
to determine the rankings. Health plans are rated on a variety
of measures including access to care and service, overall member satisfaction,
preventive care and overall quality. Peter Straley, President and CEO of HNE
said, "We are all thrilled by this national recognition. This
is a banner year for HNE; first we were recognized as the plan with
the highest rating in customer service and now we're being honored
by U.S. News & World Report and NCQA as one of the best in the nation.
We're very proud and I hope that these accomplishments will serve
as a point of pride for Springfield and for all of Western Massachusetts." U.S. News and World Report released the
results today on their website and will feature the full report in the
