HNE Helpful Hint: Ask Every Time !!
At HNE, we make every effort to provide our members with the most up-to-date insurance information.  When members make changes to their insurance coverage, we make sure to send them an updated ID card in a timely manner.  We also frequently remind our members and their employers of the importance of presenting their ID card at the time of each visit.

We would like to ask for your support in this effort as well.  In spite of our best efforts, HNE members may not always present you with their ID card.  They may assume that you communicate with HNE about insurance information, or that since they have been your patient for so long, that this is just a formality that they can forgo. 

Please be sure to ask members to show their identification cards at every visit.  This will help ensure that you have the most accurate insurance information (including the correct copayment amount to collect), and that we can process your claims more quickly and accurately.  By catching changes at the point of service rather than when claims are processed, it may even be the simplest way to reduce negative balances!
