Medical Record Review Coming
The 2009 HEDIS medical record reviews (measuring 2008 performance) will begin in March and continue through May. HNE will contact offices and collect data using a HIPAA-compliant process. If needed information cannot be identified through claims/encounters
data, select patient records may be requested by fax or mail.
Participation in this important quality assurance and improvement activity is a contract requirement for HNE physicians, other health care professionals and facilities. And, for some, data may impact individual pay-for-performance programs.

Annual Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey® (CAHPS)
The 2009 annual CAHPS will be administered during the same time period as the HEDIS® data collection (March – May 2009). The CAHPS survey is sent directly to health plan members to assess satisfaction with their health plan and health care providers during 2008. Highlights of the survey results will be shared with you later in 2009.
